Head reached the milestone off his 575th ball in the tournament, with only Andre Russell of Kolkata Knight Riders reaching 1000 runs quicker in just 545 balls.

The Australian cricketer started his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2016 and 2017 before being acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024. In the previous season, Head scored 567 runs at an impressive strike rate of 191.55. His teammate Heinrich Klaasen is third on the list of fastest players to reach 1000 IPL runs, while Virender Sehwag holds the title of the fastest Indian player to achieve this milestone.

The list of fastest players to reach 1000 IPL runs in terms of balls includes Andre Russell at the top with 545 balls, followed by Travis Head at 575 balls, Heinrich Klaasen at 594 balls, Virender Sehwag at 604 balls, Glenn Maxwell at 610 balls, Yusuf Pathan at 617 balls, and Sunil Narine also at 617 balls.
