In 2009, both Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen fetched 1.55 million US Dollars each for Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru respectively. Kieron Pollard and Shane Bond were signed for 750K US Dollars each by Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2010 auction.
Gautam Gambhir was one of the top buys in the 2011 mega auction, where Kolkata Knight Riders secured his services for 2.4 million US Dollars. In 2012, Ravindra Jadeja was signed by Chennai Super Kings for 2 million US Dollars. The trend of big-money signings continued with players like Glenn Maxwell, Yuvraj Singh, Ben Stokes, Pat Cummins, and more commanding hefty price tags in subsequent auctions.
The most recent record-breaking signing was Rishabh Pant, who was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping 27 crore in the 2025 mega auction.
