Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody has been appointed as the global director of cricket for the Lucknow Super Giants in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 60-year-old had previously coached Sunrisers Hyderabad before leaving in 2022 when Brian Lara took over as head coach.

LSG announced Moody’s appointment on social media, welcoming him with the title “Experience. Vision. Leadership. Welcome aboard the Super Giants Universe, Tom Moody!” Moody, during his playing days, represented Australia in eight Tests and 76 ODIs, scoring 1667 runs and taking 54 wickets across both formats. He also had a successful domestic career in Sheffield Shield cricket, amassing over 21,000 first-class runs and claiming 361 wickets, including 64 centuries.

Moody’s vast experience and expertise make him a valuable addition to the Lucknow Super Giants as they prepare for the upcoming season of the IPL. The team will be looking to benefit from his knowledge and leadership to achieve success in the highly competitive T20 league.
