Tom Andrews, a former financial planner, is now living out a fairytale BBL title run with the Sydney Thunder alongside David Warner and Sam Konstas. After Tasmania didn’t renew his contract, Andrews thought his cricket career was over, but he didn’t dwell on what could have been. He moved to Adelaide, started studying to become a financial adviser, and took a job in client services. Cricket took a back seat as he focused on work and studies, only playing for his grade-cricket side and helping out the Adelaide Strikers’ academy team. However, a call from Thunder’s general manager changed everything. Andrews joined the team and has been performing well, taking key wickets. Despite his cricket commitments, he remains dedicated to his university studies. Andrews is focused on helping the Thunder secure a second BBL title and is determined to make the most of this unexpected opportunity.
