Sixers coach Greg Shipperd has urged Cricket Australia to revise the schedule after his team suffered a grueling travel schedule, leading to their defeat in the BBL15 final. The Sixers had to travel from Brisbane to Perth for the Qualifier final, then back to Sydney for the Challenger, and then back to Perth for the decider, where they ultimately lost.

Shipperd expressed dissatisfaction with the tight scheduling, highlighting the lack of rest and training opportunities for his team. Australian great Mark Waugh also criticized the schedule, suggesting that one day between matches was insufficient for teams in the BBL finals.

Despite the loss, Shipperd praised his team, particularly singling out star player Steve Smith for his outstanding performance. Shipperd believes Smith is currently the best batter in the competition and should be considered for the T20 World Cup squad.

Overall, Shipperd acknowledged the challenges his team faced due to the demanding schedule but remained proud of their efforts and performance throughout the season. He emphasized Smith’s exceptional skills and experience, indicating that he would be a valuable asset in international tournaments.
