Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced another home defeat at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, extending their record to 45 losses at their home ground in the IPL history. Despite their impressive away form, RCB continues to struggle at home with mid-innings stumbles and uninspiring finishes. Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull suggested a unique solution to their home crisis – changing the dressing room at Chinnaswamy. Doull’s idea was to switch to the opposition dressing room to change the scenery and potentially change their luck.
In their recent match against Delhi Capitals, RCB posted 163/7 which was not enough as DC chased down the target with an unbeaten 111-run partnership between KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs. RCB now has a home win-loss ratio of 0.977 at Chinnaswamy, while Delhi Capitals have 44 losses at their home ground with a win-loss ratio of 0.840. Kolkata Knight Riders follow with 38 defeats at Eden Gardens.
Despite their struggles at home, RCB has shown promise with wins against top teams away. Doull’s unconventional suggestion may just be the change they need to turn their fortunes around at Chinnaswamy.
