Gujarat Titans have reaped the benefits of their investment in B. Sai Sudharsan, who was acquired for his base price of Rs. 20 lakh and retained for Rs. 8.5 crore for the current IPL season. The young Indian batter showcased his talent once again by scoring 82 runs off 53 balls in a recent match against Rajasthan Royals, helping his team secure their fourth consecutive win.
Sai Sudharsan has been in impressive form, scoring his third fifty of the season in just five innings. Despite losing his opening partner Shubman Gill early in the match, Sudharsan found support from Jos Buttler, who contributed 36 runs before being dismissed lbw. Sudharsan continued to dominate the innings with a variety of strokes, including drives, cuts, and lofted shots.
Middle-order batsmen M. Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia also made valuable contributions to Gujarat Titans’ total, ensuring a competitive score after being asked to bat first. In response, Rajasthan Royals struggled to chase down the target of 218 runs, eventually falling short by 58 runs.
Although Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag added 48 runs for the third wicket, the Royals failed to build partnerships consistently. Shimron Hetmyer’s valiant effort of scoring 52 runs off 32 balls was not enough to secure a victory, as Prasidh Krishna claimed three wickets to seal the win for Gujarat Titans.
