According to reports, England cricketer Ben Stokes has decided to skip the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 player mega auction. Stokes, who last played for the Chennai Super Kings in 2023, had to withdraw from the competition midway due to a knee injury. He also opted out of the 2024 season to manage his workload. The 33-year-old had earlier requested not to be included in the England squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. By not registering for the mega auction, Stokes will not be able to participate in the subsequent mini-auctions in the upcoming seasons. On the other hand, former international player James Anderson, who has never been a part of the IPL and last played a T20 match in 2014, has put his name in the list of players for the auction. Other major international stars like Jofra Archer and Mitchell Starc are also expected to go under the hammer.
