In Match 5 of IPL 2025, Punjab Kings’ captain Shreyas Iyer showcased his brilliance by playing an unbeaten innings of 97 runs, leading his team to a massive total of 243/5 after being asked to bat at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Iyer started aggressively, hitting Kagiso Rabada for a four and a six in the same over. He also achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 6,000 runs in men’s T20 cricket. Although he fell just short of his maiden IPL century, Shashank Singh’s late flurry of boundaries ensured Punjab finished strongly. This innings marked Iyer’s highest score in the IPL, surpassing his previous best of 96. The record for the fastest IPL century still belongs to Chris Gayle, who scored a hundred in just 30 balls in 2013. Among Gujarat Titans’ bowlers, Sai Kishore stood out with three wickets for 30 runs.
