During the IPL 2025 opener between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer showcased his talent by scoring his highest ever IPL score of 97 runs. This innings surpassed his previous best of 96 runs, which he achieved back in IPL 2017 against Gujarat Lions. Making his debut for Punjab Kings, Shreyas played a magnificent innings filled with five fours and nine sixes, helping his team reach a massive total of 243/5.
Coming in at No. 3, Shreyas started off strong by hitting a boundary off the first ball he faced from Kagiso Rabada. However, his standout performance came against Prasidh Krishna, where he scored 32 runs in just 11 balls with three sixes and two fours. Unfortunately, Shreyas fell short of a century as he was left stranded on 97 runs at the end of the innings, with his teammate Shashank Singh facing all deliveries in the final over.
The match also featured a captivating image of Shreyas Iyer in action, as he played a shot during the game. This remarkable innings by Shreyas not only helped Punjab Kings secure a commanding total but also showcased his exceptional batting skills and leadership as the team captain.
