Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur was recently seen training with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), leading to speculation that he may join the team for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. Photos circulating on social media showed Shardul bowling in LSG training gear, despite going unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
LSG has faced some setbacks with pacer Mayank Yadav being ruled out of the initial games due to an injury. The young Delhi bowler, who made his India debut last year, is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy and will need to be cleared before rejoining the team.
Shardul, who represented the Chennai Super Kings in the previous season, had a modest performance with just five wickets in nine matches at an average of 61.80. The 33-year-old has previously played for teams like Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Supergiant, and Punjab Kings, accumulating a total of 94 wickets throughout his IPL career.
With Shardul’s potential inclusion, LSG could benefit from his experience and versatility as they gear up for the upcoming IPL season. Fans will be eager to see how the all-rounder contributes to the team’s performance on the field.
