Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill credited his team’s strong start to the season to a collective effort, with everyone contributing. The team secured a convincing 58-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League match. Sai Sudharsan played a crucial role in the win with his classy fifty, supported by a strong bowling performance.
Gill praised the team’s batting effort, as they posted a total of 217 for six after being asked to bat first. He highlighted the contribution of the fast bowlers and the team’s overall teamwork, stating that it makes captaincy easier when every player is willing to contribute.
Despite having senior players in the team, Gill expressed that everyone is supportive and nice, making his job as captain easier. On the other hand, RR captain Sanju Samson lamented the extra runs conceded while bowling and acknowledged that the team’s execution did not go according to plan.
Samson pointed out that losing wickets at crucial moments cost them the game, especially after he was dismissed. He acknowledged Jofra Archer’s good start with the ball but admitted that they went off plan during the match.
Reflecting on his decision to bowl first after winning the toss, Samson mentioned the team’s desire to improve their chasing abilities and not rely solely on batting first to secure wins. Overall, both captains acknowledged the importance of teamwork and execution in achieving success in the IPL.
