Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson will be sidelined for the upcoming IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 24 due to an abdominal injury. The franchise confirmed that Samson is currently undergoing recovery and will not travel to Bangalore for the match. His return to the field will be assessed on a game-by-game basis.

In Samson’s absence, Riyan Parag will lead the team as stand-in captain. The injury has also provided an opportunity for 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made his debut in the previous match against Lucknow. However, with the team struggling for form and sitting eighth on the points table, Samson’s absence will be felt as the Royals aim to improve their performance in the league’s second half.

RR will face RCB in Bengaluru on April 24, hoping to secure a much-needed victory without their captain. The team’s official statement mentioned that Samson pulled up with the injury during a game against Delhi Capitals and had already missed the match against Lucknow Super Giants.
