Rajasthan Royals made a significant investment of Rs. 79 crore in retaining six players ahead of the upcoming IPL auction. This decision to hold onto five capped players, including captain Sanju Samson, led to the team having the highest expenditure among all the franchises. As a result, the Royals will not have any Right to Match cards available during the auction. The team finished third in the previous IPL season, reaching the second qualifier before being defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad. The retained players for Rajasthan Royals include Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, and Sandeep Sharma. Their retained values range from Rs. 4 crore to Rs. 18 crore. With a strong core of players secured, the Royals will be looking to build on their previous season’s success and make a strong showing in the upcoming IPL.
