India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson finally spoke out about joining the Chennai Super Kings after a trade deal with the Rajasthan Royals for the IPL 2026 season. In a video posted by Chennai, Samson expressed his excitement about donning the iconic ‘yellow jersey’ for the first time, calling it a long-awaited moment. Having played 177 IPL matches, Samson will now represent his third franchise, CSK. He mentioned feeling like a champion and experiencing a different energy while wearing the CSK jersey. The trade deal also saw Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran moving to Rajasthan Royals, with Jadeja’s league fee revised to INR 14 crore and Samson retaining his fee of INR 18 crore. CSK Managing Director Kasi Viswanathan explained that the trade was mutually agreed upon, despite it being a tough decision to part ways with Jadeja.
