Sanju Samson has been cleared by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to resume his wicketkeeping duties and return as the full-time captain for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025. This development comes after Riyan Parag’s captaincy stint ended, with Samson set to lead the team in their upcoming match against the Punjab Kings. Samson had been sidelined due to a finger injury sustained during the home T20I series against England earlier this year. Despite not fully recovering at the start of the IPL season, he named Parag as the interim captain for the first three games. However, Samson continued to feature in those matches as an impact sub, with Dhruv Jurel taking over wicketkeeping duties. With the NCA’s clearance, Samson is now set to resume his leadership role and captaincy for the team’s next match. The Rajasthan Royals had a mixed start to the season under Parag’s captaincy, winning one game out of three. Overall, the team looks forward to having Samson back in action and leading from the front.
