Tamil Nadu’s promising batsman Sai Sudharsan has suffered a rib fracture during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh, likely sidelining him for over a month. The injury occurred when Sudharsan dived during a run in Ahmedabad, fracturing the anterior cortex of his seventh right rib. This setback comes as a blow to his domestic team, which will have to adjust without their key middle-order batter for the rest of the tournament. However, there is hope that Sudharsan will recover in time to play for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. The 24-year-old reported to the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, where he is undergoing a strength and conditioning program to aid his recovery. Typically, this type of injury takes six to eight weeks to heal. In his Test cricket career, Sudharsan has struggled to make an impact, but has shown promise in limited-overs cricket with two fifties in ODIs. Despite this setback, Sudharsan remains a talent to watch out for in the future.
