Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has decided to release England all-rounder Liam Livingstone ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Livingstone, who was bought for Rs. 8.75 crore in the 2025 auction, had a disappointing season with the bat, scoring only 112 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 133.33, with just one half-century. He also bowled nine overs, taking two wickets at an economy rate of 8.44.
However, after the IPL, Livingstone showed improved form in white-ball competitions. He captained Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, finishing as the team’s top run-scorer with 241 runs at a strike rate of 155.48, and also taking seven wickets at an economy rate of 7.36. In the T20 Blast, he scored 260 runs at a strike rate of 176.87 and picked up six wickets during Lancashire’s journey to the semifinals.
Despite his improved performances in domestic English cricket, RCB has chosen to part ways with Livingstone as they prepare for the upcoming season in 2026. The decision comes as the team looks to make strategic changes to their squad.
The news of Livingstone’s release was confirmed on November 15, 2025.
