Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the 2025 Indian Premier League champions, have announced a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh for the families of the 11 victims who tragically died in a stampede during the team’s victory celebrations on June 4. The franchise expressed their deep sorrow for the loss of these individuals who were a part of the RCB family and the community. The compensation is not only a financial aid but also a promise of compassion, unity, and ongoing care.

The team also introduced RCB CARES, a long-term commitment to meaningful action that begins with honoring the memory of the victims. The tragic incident occurred after RCB ended its 18-year title drought, attracting a massive crowd of over two lakh people at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which can only accommodate 32,000 individuals. The overwhelming crowd led to a chaotic stampede at the gates, resulting in the loss of 11 lives and injuries to at least 50 others, all under the age of 40.

Following the incident, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh for the families of the deceased. RCB also provided financial support of Rs. 10 lakh to each family as a mark of respect and solidarity. The franchise’s decision to increase the compensation to Rs. 25 lakh demonstrates their commitment to supporting the families of the victims during this difficult time. The tragic event occurred on June 4, 2025, and the announcement was made on August 30, 2025.
