Former Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad suggested that if pacer Mohammad Amir played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), they could win the IPL trophy. However, former Pakistan keeper Rashid Latif disagreed, stating that as long as MS Dhoni is playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), RCB should not even think about winning the trophy. Latif’s comments came during a GEO TV show where Shehzad, Amir, and Latif discussed RCB’s chances in the IPL.
Realistically, it is not possible for Amir to play for any IPL franchise due to the ban on Pakistani players in the tournament. Meanwhile, AB de Villiers expressed confidence in Virat Kohli’s performance in the upcoming IPL season, highlighting his ability to adapt and improve his strike rate. RCB, under new captain Rajat Patidar, will start their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 22, aiming to secure their first IPL title. Kohli’s improved performance against spin in the previous season played a crucial role in RCB’s turnaround, leading them to the playoffs. Kohli finished the season with the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs.
