Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has made a significant announcement regarding their squad for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The team has named Zimbabwean pacer Blessing Muzarabani as the replacement for Lungisani Ngidi, who has left the franchise to join South Africa for the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia.
Ngidi, a 29-year-old fast bowler, played just one match for RCB this season, where he managed to take three wickets against Chennai Super Kings on May 3. His efforts helped RCB secure a narrow two-run victory in that game. With Ngidi unavailable for the IPL matches, Muzarabani has been brought in as his replacement.
Muzarabani will be eligible for selection starting from May 26, ahead of RCB’s last league game against Lucknow Super Giants on May 27. The Zimbabwean pacer has extensive experience in T20 cricket, having played 70 matches and taken 78 wickets in the format. Additionally, he has represented his country in 12 Test matches and 55 ODIs.
RCB has signed Muzarabani for a fee of INR 75 lakh, and the team will be hoping that his skills and experience will bolster their bowling attack in the remaining matches of the IPL 2025 season. Muzarabani’s arrival will add depth to RCB’s pace bowling options and provide them with a valuable asset as they look to secure a playoff spot in the tournament.
