Indian cricketer Rajat Patidar recently found himself in a peculiar situation involving his old mobile number, two cricket fans from Chhattisgarh, and local law enforcement. Patidar’s former mobile number, which had been inactive for over 90 days, was deactivated and reassigned to a boy named Manish from Gariaband district. Manish and his friend Khemraj were surprised to see Patidar’s photo as the WhatsApp profile image for the number.

The situation escalated when prominent cricketers Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers tried to contact Patidar on the number. When Patidar reached out to reclaim his old number, Manish and Khemraj jokingly refused to believe it was him on the line, leading Patidar to threaten to involve the police. The local authorities quickly intervened, and the SIM card was returned to Patidar.

Reflecting on the incident, Khemraj expressed his excitement at speaking to Kohli due to a wrong number, calling it a dream come true. Patidar had a successful season earlier this year when he led the Royal Challengers Bangalore to their first Indian Premier League title. The team emerged victorious in the final against Punjab Kings.
