During the IPL 2025 mega auction, Rajasthan Royals CEO Jake Lush McCrum expressed his excitement over England pacer Jofra Archer joining the team. Archer, who won the MVP award in 2020, was purchased by the Royals for Rs 12.50 crore.

Lush McCrum described Archer’s “explosive capability” as a unique asset that made him a valuable addition to the team. Despite initially being excluded from the player shortlist, Archer was added just days before the event. However, his availability for the IPL remains uncertain as it overlaps with England’s red-ball summer.

Under new regulations introduced for the 2025 season, Archer will not be allowed to skip the tournament. Players who withdraw for reasons other than injury could face a potential two-year ban from the IPL. Lush McCrum emphasized that Archer has been through challenging times but is now well looked after. The England physio, Craig, is also the physio for the IPL team, ensuring continuity of management.

Lush McCrum stated that they will take great care in managing Archer to ensure he remains in a good place. Overall, the Royals are thrilled to have Archer back in the set-up and are looking forward to his contribution to the team. Archer’s explosive skills and potential make him a valuable asset for the Royals in the upcoming IPL season.
