Rajasthan Royals made some big moves at the IPL 2025 Auction, securing England pacer Jofra Archer for ₹12.5 crores, a significant increase from his base price of ₹2 crores. They also made some key overseas signings, including Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana from Sri Lanka. Akash Madhwal and Kartikeya Singh were also added to the squad for ₹1.20 crores and ₹30 lakhs, respectively.

On Day 2 of the auction, RR continued to strengthen their squad by acquiring Nitish Rana for 4.20 crores and pacer Tushar Deshpande for ₹6.50 crores. They also made headlines by signing 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi for ₹1.10 crores, making him the youngest player ever to be picked in the IPL.

After rejoining RR, Archer expressed his excitement in a video message, saying, “Hey guys, so happy to be back. Can’t wait to get out there. Halla Bol.” Archer has a strong track record, with 124 wickets in 69 matches for England and 46 wickets in 35 IPL matches.

Theekshana, the first player of the set seven in the auction, has been a consistent performer for Sri Lanka, while Hasaranga is known as one of the best T20 cricketers in the world. The ongoing auction also saw record-breaking deals, with Rishabh Pant becoming the most expensive buy in history.

RR’s IPL Auction 2025 purchases include several key players such as Jofra Archer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, and others. They also retained players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
