Rahul Dravid, the new head coach of the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, showed his dedication by attending the team’s pre-season training session despite sustaining a leg injury while playing in a local league match. In a video shared by the franchise, Dravid was seen arriving at the camp in a golf cart before switching to crutches for mobility due to his injury. Despite his left leg being in a medical walking boot, Dravid actively participated in the session, shaking hands with players and engaging in discussions with young talent like Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The 52-year-old had suffered a left calf muscle injury while batting for Vijaya Cricket Club in a match in Bangalore. Despite the discomfort, he continued to play and scored 43 runs off 66 balls in a partnership with his son Anvay. Dravid recently made his first club appearance in 13 years, partnering with Anvay who impressed with a 60-ball 58.

Dravid, who led India to a T20 World Cup triumph during his stint as the national team’s head coach from 2022 to 2024, will now be working closely with captain Sanju Samson and director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara at Rajasthan Royals. Despite his injury, Dravid’s commitment to the team and the game remains unwavering.
