Punjab Kings (PBKS) of the Indian Premier League has kicked off their training camp at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) stadium in Dharamshala in preparation for the upcoming IPL 2025 season. The camp, scheduled from March 12-15, will see key Indian players such as Prabhsimran Singh, Shashank Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal in attendance, along with coaches Ricky Ponting, Brad Haddin, and James Hopes.
Coach Ponting explained the decision to train in Dharamshala was to familiarize the team with the ground where they will play three consecutive games at the end of the tournament. Following their time in Dharamshala, the camp will shift to Mullanpur on March 16, where captain Shreyas Iyer and Arshdeep Singh will join after their success in the 2025 Champions Trophy. The team will train at the new PCA stadium and will feature international players like Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Marco Jansen, and Lockie Ferguson.
PBKS is set to begin their IPL campaign on March 25 against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi International Stadium. The squad includes a mix of batters, wicketkeepers, all-rounders, fast bowlers, and spinners, with notable names like Shreyas Iyer, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Yuzvendra Chahal among others.
Overall, PBKS is gearing up for a competitive season ahead and is utilizing their training camps to ensure they are well-prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in the IPL 2025 season.
