The owners of PSL cricket teams have expressed concerns to the PCB about the upcoming tournament. Normally, PSL Season 10 is announced in December and played in February and March. However, due to the ICC Champions Trophy this year, the schedule has been disrupted. The PCB has hinted at a possible April start for the Pakistan Super League, but no official dates have been confirmed yet.

The delay is primarily due to the potential clash between the IPL and PSL schedules. With Pakistan hosting the ICC Champions Trophy, adjustments have had to be made to the PSL calendar. Salman Naseer has been appointed as the Head of Affairs for the tournament, a move supported by all team owners. They have raised questions about the PSL’s plans, as the PCB is preoccupied with preparations for the Champions Trophy.

Another issue is the overlapping dates of the IPL and PSL. If both leagues run concurrently, it may affect the availability of top players. The IPL’s lucrative contracts could attract many high-profile cricketers, leaving fewer stars for the PSL. This could impact the quality and viewership of the league.

Due to these challenges, the PCB has not yet announced the PSL 10 draft or schedule. Reports suggest the draft may take place in Saudi Arabia to finalize the roster with players not involved in the IPL. Once this process is completed, the PSL will proceed with its planning and execution.
