The IPL 2025 has showcased some of the biggest names in international cricket, but the young players have proven time and again that they are ready to take on the challenge and give the established players a tough competition. Punjab Kings’ opening batsman Priyansh Arya put up a stellar performance, scoring a rapid 103-run knock in just 42 balls to lead his team to victory against Chennai Super Kings.

Despite losing wickets at the other end, Priyansh continued his aggressive batting, eventually scoring a century off just 39 balls, making it the fastest-ever by an uncapped player in IPL history. This remarkable innings was also the fifth-fastest century in IPL history and the quickest against CSK. Priyansh showed no fear in taking on the legendary bowlers like Ravichandran Ashwin, Matheesha Pathirana, and Noor Ahmad.

Priyansh expressed his admiration for former India captain MS Dhoni, who watched his innings from close quarters but unfortunately, Priyansh missed the opportunity to speak to him after the game due to his busy schedule. He also revealed his strategy against Ashwin and credited coach Ricky Ponting and skipper Shreyas Iyer for their unwavering support.

The young player also shared his experience of learning from Gautam Gambhir and how his life has changed after gaining recognition in the Delhi Premier League. Priyansh emphasized the importance of playing on instinct and backing his natural gameplay, which has brought him success in the IPL. He informed me that if I managed to get the same ball in the upcoming match, I would be able to hit it out of the ground. His words filled me with confidence and I was determined to make it happen. Priyansh, a dedicated student of the game, expressed his gratitude towards his childhood coach, Sanjay Bharadwaj, also known as ‘Guruji’. Sanjay Bharadwaj has trained renowned cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Nitish Rana, and Amit Mishra. Priyansh credits Sanjay sir for playing a significant role in his life from a young age, guiding him both mentally and technically to improve his game. He recalls how Sanjay sir encouraged him to observe Gautam Gambhir’s batting techniques during practice sessions. Priyansh reveals that he stays in touch with his coach regularly, seeking his advice and motivation before and after matches. Before the IPL season began, Sanjay sir advised him to focus on perfecting his cut and pull shots, anticipating the challenges posed by bowlers in the competition. Priyansh values his coach’s positive influence and guidance as he continues to strive for excellence in his cricketing career.
