Priyansh Arya, a 24-year-old opening batter for Punjab Kings, made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by scoring the fastest century against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025. Arya’s scintillating knock of 103 runs off 42 balls included 7 fours and nine sixes, reaching the three-figure mark in just 39 balls. This achievement also marks the fastest century by an uncapped player in IPL history. His impressive performance led Punjab Kings to victory over CSK by 18 runs.

The moment Arya reached his century, co-owner Preity Zinta couldn’t contain her excitement and jumped out of her seat to celebrate. Captain Shreyas Iyer and coach Ricky Ponting also applauded Arya’s remarkable innings. Known for his aggressive batting style, Arya showed his fearlessness by taking on top bowlers like Pathirana and Ashwin.

Arya, who was bought by Punjab Kings for INR 3.8 crore at the mega auction, gained recognition for hitting six 6s in an over during a domestic league match. In the 2023-24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he emerged as Delhi’s highest run-scorer. Arya’s performance has solidified his place as one of the rising stars in the IPL, joining the ranks of uncapped players who have scored centuries in the tournament’s history.
