Many consider MS Dhoni to be the greatest-ever cricket captain in history, leading India to multiple international titles. Despite retiring from international cricket in 2019, Dhoni continues to play in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings. Former Sri Lankan cricketer Thisara Perera, who played under Dhoni’s captaincy in the IPL, shared a special memory of the former India skipper. Perera recalled an incident where Dhoni advised him to be more aggressive with his batting during a match for Rising Pune Supergiant. Dhoni’s encouragement and guidance helped Perera gain confidence and contribute significantly to the team’s success. Perera praised Dhoni as the best captain in the world and expressed gratitude for the trust and confidence Dhoni instilled in him as a power-hitter. Dhoni, now 43 years old, remains a key player for CSK in the IPL, with the upcoming season set to begin on March 22, 2025. Despite no longer being the captain, Dhoni’s influence and leadership continue to inspire his teammates on and off the field.
