Chennai Super Kings have been working tirelessly to secure the services of Sanju Samson from the Rajasthan Royals, and it seems that their efforts are about to pay off. The trade deal between the two teams is pending final approval from the BCCI, with CSK offering Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran in exchange.

In preparation for the upcoming season, the CSK management, including skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, coach Stephen Fleming, and M.S. Dhoni, will convene to finalize the list of players to retain and release. The team, known for its consistency, has faced a rough patch in the last two seasons, missing out on the playoffs. Samson’s addition to the squad will provide a much-needed boost to the batting lineup, which has been lacking in firepower.

While CSK made some late signings to address their issues, such as Ayush Mathre, Urvil Patel, and Dewald Brevis as injury replacements, the departure of Jadeja leaves a void in the spin department. The team is now on the lookout for a spinner who can also contribute with the bat in the upcoming mini-auction. Despite having Noor Ahmad as a top performer in the previous season, the team is in need of a quality Indian spinner to complement him. Shreyas Gopal is currently the only leg-spinner in the squad, but CSK will be looking to strengthen their spin bowling options.
