Rishabh Pant’s IPL season with Lucknow Super Giants has been lackluster, with consecutive low scores in recent matches. After a disappointing loss to Punjab Kings, Pant admitted that the team’s strategy to capitalize on home advantage by preparing a slower pitch did not work out as planned. The defeat was further compounded by Pant’s early dismissal and the team’s overall batting struggles.
LSG’s team mentor Zaheer Khan pointed fingers at the curator for the unfavorable pitch conditions, suggesting that it seemed like the opposition team’s curator had prepared the pitch. Despite practicing on a different pitch surface before the match, LSG could not adapt to the conditions during the game, leading to a comprehensive defeat.
Looking ahead to their upcoming match against Mumbai Indians, Zaheer emphasized the need to address the pitch issue and deliver a better performance for the home fans. He called for more support for the team and expressed confidence in their ability to bounce back in the remaining games of the season.
In addition to the batting woes, LSG’s bowlers also struggled to contain the PBKS batters, with only Digvesh Rathi managing to pick up wickets. The team will need to regroup and improve in all areas to turn their season around.
