Royal Challengers Bengaluru have appointed Omkar Salvi as their bowling coach for the upcoming IPL season. The 46-year-old has an impressive track record, having guided Mumbai to Ranji Trophy and Irani Trophy titles last season. Salvi, who has recently won the Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, and the IPL, will join RCB after completing his Indian Domestic season duties.

Salvi took over as the head coach of the Mumbai team for the 2023-24 season and led them to their historic Ranji title, their first in eight years. He has also spent four seasons as the team’s bowling coach, establishing himself as a key figure in their success. RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, expressed his excitement about Salvi joining the coaching team, highlighting his expertise in developing fast bowlers and his proven track record at both domestic and IPL levels.

Omkar Salvi, the younger brother of former India player Aavishkar Salvi, has played just one List-A game for Railways in 2005. He is currently contracted with the Mumbai Cricket Association until March 2025. Despite participating in the IPL since its inception in 2008, RCB has never won a title.

The announcement of Salvi’s appointment was made on Twitter by RCB, and fans are eagerly awaiting his contribution to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
