Despite being the hosts of the tournament, no representative from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was present at the presentation ceremony. Former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar expressed his surprise and disappointment at this situation, questioning why no one from PCB was there to represent the country. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi did not attend the ceremony, and instead, the PCB sent Sumair Ahmed, the tournament director. However, it was noted that only elected members or directors of the board were allowed on the podium, which included officials from BCCI and New Zealand Cricket. Even the Dubai leg tournament director, Andre Russell, was not called to the podium. This absence of PCB representation sparked discussions and debates within the cricketing community.
