In honor of Mother’s Day, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer expressed his deep admiration for his mother, who has been his source of inspiration and strength. In a video shared by PBKS, Iyer credited his mother for being the pillar of his life and supporting him during difficult times, especially his matrimonial period. He described her as a talisman that guides him in life.

Iyer’s cricket journey began with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the IPL, where he made a mark as an emerging player and eventually became the team’s captain. He led the team to the playoffs and even the finals in 2020, showcasing his leadership skills. After being released by Delhi Capitals, he joined Punjab Kings for a whopping 26.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. Under his captaincy, PBKS has had a successful season, securing 16 points from 12 matches.

In the ongoing IPL season, Shreyas has scored 405 runs in 12 matches with an impressive average of 50.63 and a strike rate of 180.81. He has scored four half-centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 97 against the Gujarat Titans. His journey as a captain and a player has been remarkable, and he continues to inspire others both on and off the field.
