Munaf Patel, the former India bowler, has officially joined Delhi Capitals for the upcoming 2025 Indian Premier League season. This news comes after the team recently appointed Hemang Badani and Venugopal Rao as head coach and Director of Cricket respectively, following Ricky Ponting’s departure.
Patel, who has 70 ODIs and 35 Test matches under his belt, was a part of India’s World Cup-winning squad in 2011. He has previously played for Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, and Gujarat Lions in the IPL, picking up a total of 76 wickets in 65 matches.
Delhi Capitals recently released Rishabh Pant but retained Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. They also kept Abishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs in their squad for the upcoming season. The franchise is gearing up for the mega auction this month as they prepare to build a strong team for the tournament.
