Mukesh Choudhary, who made his mark as the top wicket-taker for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2022, faced a series of setbacks that hindered his progress. After suffering from a rib fracture and a subsequent stress fracture of the back, he was forced to sit out of IPL 2023. Upon his return in 2024, Choudhary struggled to secure a spot in the playing XI and faced a tough challenge when Abhishek Sharma of SRH hammered him for 27 runs in just one over during the one match he played.

Despite these setbacks, Choudhary expressed gratitude for the faith shown in him by CSK, stating that he was happy to be back in action. He acknowledged the difficulties of dealing with injuries but emphasized the opportunity to start anew and strive for improvement. Recently, Choudhary showcased his talent by finishing as the third-highest wicket-taker in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 15 wickets in six matches at an economy rate of 8.81 while representing Maharashtra.

Looking ahead to the upcoming IPL season, Choudhary expressed his enthusiasm and readiness to compete. As a left-arm pacer known for his ability to swing the new ball, he is hopeful to team up with his friend and fellow left-arm pacer, Khaleel Ahmed. Having trained together at the MRF Pace Foundation, Choudhary and Ahmed share a strong bond and are eager to showcase their skills together on the field in the upcoming IPL matches.
