Social media was buzzing once again with praise for Chennai Super Kings icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he showcased his impeccable stumping skills against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Phil Salt, who was opening alongside Virat Kohli, fell victim to Dhoni’s quick reflexes as he was stumped on 32 by a brilliant display of glovework in the fifth over.
Noor Ahmad’s googly had beaten Salt’s outside edge, and even though the Englishman had momentarily lifted his back foot off the crease, Dhoni seized the opportunity in a flash to dislodge the bails and send him back to the pavilion. This stunning display of wicketkeeping once again highlighted Dhoni’s exceptional skills behind the stumps.
This was not the first time Dhoni’s quick glovework had gone viral, as in CSK’s IPL 2025 opener against Mumbai Indians, he had stumped Suryakumar Yadav with a reaction time of just 0.12 seconds. Dhoni’s ability to make lightning-fast decisions and execute flawless stumpings continues to impress fans and critics alike, cementing his reputation as one of the best wicketkeeper-batters in the game.
