This marks Dhoni’s first POTM award since 2019. He played a crucial role in his team’s five-wicket victory at the Ekana Stadium on Monday.
Dhoni showcased his skills both with the bat and behind the stumps during the match. Coming in to bat when his team was struggling at 111/5, he played a quickfire 26-run innings to accelerate the chase. Additionally, he was efficient in his wicketkeeping duties, being involved in three dismissals that included a stumping and two catches.
After the match, Dhoni expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating that the win would boost their confidence. He acknowledged the team’s struggles in previous games but highlighted the importance of improving on better wickets to give the batsmen more confidence.
