Chennai Super Kings’ final matches of IPL 2025 may not necessarily mark the end of MS Dhoni’s illustrious career, as per reports. While fans have been emotionally preparing for a potential goodbye, the CSK camp is reportedly considering Dhoni’s return for the next season. The 43-year-old has not communicated any plans to retire at the end of the current campaign, with CSK feeling there are still loose ends to address within the team. Despite currently being at the bottom of the table, CSK values Dhoni’s contributions as a lower middle-order batter, wicketkeeper, and mentor during this transition phase. The team believes Dhoni’s presence is essential for the young core to settle down and reach the heights they achieved in 2023. Dhoni’s fitness has also been a positive aspect, with his body holding up better this season compared to previous years. While Ruturaj Gaikwad will retain the captaincy, Dhoni’s leadership and experience are seen as vital for the team’s success. Despite Gaikwad’s mixed results as captain, the team remains supportive of him.
