Cameron White, former Australian T20 captain, has been appointed as the new coach of the Melbourne Renegades for the next three seasons. White, who is Victoria’s longest-serving Sheffield Shield captain and has also captained the national one-day side, takes over from David Saker who was sacked after the Renegades had a disappointing season with only two wins.

The Renegades, who finished at the bottom of the Big Bash ladder in the past two seasons after winning the title in 2018-19, are hoping White can turn their fortunes around. White returns to Victorian cricket after being let go by the Renegades and joining the Adelaide Strikers where he began his coaching journey before coming back to his home state.

White expressed his excitement about working with the Renegades’ playing group, which includes both young and experienced players. With over 3000 international runs in ODI and T20 games for Australia, White brings a wealth of experience to the role of coach. Renegades general manager James Rosengarten praised White’s knowledge of T20 cricket and his vision for the club, highlighting his deep connection to the Renegades and his past contributions to their success.

White is eager to get started in his new role as coach and is determined to lead the Renegades to success in the upcoming seasons. With his experience and passion for the game, White is poised to make a significant impact on the team and help them climb up the Big Bash ladder.
