Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram’s aggressive batting performances outshined Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan’s century partnership as Lucknow Super Giants secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Pooran’s quickfire 61 off 34 balls and Markram’s 58 runs helped the Super Giants successfully chase down the target of 181 runs with three balls to spare, marking their fourth win of the season.

Markram started the innings on a high note by taking on Mohammed Siraj and scoring 20 runs in one over. He continued his attacking approach alongside Rishabh Pant, helping Lucknow reach 61 runs in the powerplay. Pant struggled to find his rhythm and was dismissed for 21 runs, paving the way for Pooran to take charge. Pooran and Markram capitalized on Gujarat’s spinners, with Pooran smashing three sixes in one over from R Sai Kishore. Despite Markram’s dismissal in the 12th over, Pooran continued his onslaught and reached his fifty in just 23 balls.

Gujarat Titans’ middle-order failed to maintain the momentum set by Gill and Sudharsan, who scored 120 runs together in the first 12 overs. Gill and Sudharsan utilized the fielding restrictions well and played smartly to keep the scoreboard ticking. However, Lucknow’s bowlers tightened their grip on the game in the latter overs, restricting Gujarat to 180 runs.

In the end, Lucknow Super Giants emerged victorious, with Ayush Badoni hitting a four and a six in the final over to secure the win. Despite a valiant effort from Gujarat Titans, their total was not enough to stop Lucknow from clinching the victory.
