Chandrakant Pandit has decided to part ways with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in order to pursue new opportunities, the IPL franchise announced on Tuesday. Pandit, who took over as head coach in 2022 after leading Madhya Pradesh to their first-ever Ranji Trophy title, had been with KKR for the past three seasons, including their successful 2024 campaign.
KKR expressed their gratitude for Pandit’s contributions, which included guiding the team to an IPL championship and helping to build a strong squad. The team praised his leadership and discipline, noting the lasting impact he had on the players.
Despite their previous successes, KKR had a disappointing season in 2025, finishing in eighth place with only five wins out of 14 games. The team took to social media to bid farewell to Pandit, assuring him that Kolkata would always be his home.
As Pandit departs, KKR will now begin the search for a new head coach to lead them in the upcoming seasons. Fans will be eagerly awaiting news on who will take over the reins and lead the team to future success.
