The discussion about home advantage in the IPL 2025 edition continues as Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane criticized the local curator, Sujan Mukherjee, after their loss to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Rahane expressed disappointment with the lack of support for spinners in the pitch at Eden Gardens, despite his earlier request for a spinning track. Mukherjee initially refused to change the pitch conditions but later agreed to consider making adjustments after facing backlash on social media.

Rahane hinted at speaking to IPL authorities about the issue, stating that the curator had received a lot of publicity. He also addressed the lack of home advantage for KKR and emphasized that there was no assistance for spinners in the match against LSG.

When questioned about the Kolkata crowd’s support for opposing teams like Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Rahane praised the contributions of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni to Indian cricket, explaining the fans’ enthusiasm for them. Despite KKR’s efforts, they suffered their third loss of the season against LSG, failing to chase down a target of 239 runs.
