Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter, recently found himself in fits of laughter as he watched footage of his younger self from IPL 2011. In the video, a 22-year-old Kohli was seen giving his acceptance speech after winning the Player of the Match award in a game against Delhi Daredevils. Reflecting on the match, Kohli recalled how he took charge from Chris Gayle in their partnership and led RCB to victory by chasing down the target of 162.

During a candid conversation on ’18 Calling 18′ on JioHotstar, Kohli was shown the old video and couldn’t help but laugh at his younger self’s remarks. He jokingly commented on his post-match statement from 2011, admitting to a misunderstanding in his assessment of the game.

Despite the embarrassment, Kohli took the moment in good humor and poked fun at himself. He is currently playing in the IPL 2025 season for RCB and has scored 164 runs in four innings with two fifties at a strike rate of 143.86. The incident serves as a reminder of Kohli’s growth and evolution as a cricketer over the years.
