Krunal Pandya had a slow start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) season, batting in only four out of nine matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and scoring just 24 runs off 28 balls. However, he made a significant impact in the match against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Chasing 163, Krunal’s unbeaten 73 off 47 balls led RCB to a crucial six-wicket victory, maintaining their perfect away record of six wins out of six.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 with RCB struggling at 26 for three, Krunal formed a crucial partnership with Virat Kohli, adding 119 runs for the fourth wicket. Kohli contributed 51 runs to the partnership. The duo kept the scoreboard ticking with singles and doubles on a challenging pitch.

Krunal changed the momentum of the game in the 13th over by hitting two consecutive sixes off Mukesh Kumar. He continued his aggressive batting, hitting another six off Kuldeep Yadav. Although there was a chance for Delhi Capitals to dismiss Krunal in the 16th over, a dropped catch allowed him to continue his innings.

In addition to his batting heroics, Krunal also contributed with the ball, taking 1 wicket for 28 runs in his four overs. The Capitals were restricted to 162 for eight, thanks to the efforts of pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood.

Despite KL Rahul top-scoring for Delhi with 41 runs, his innings fell short of expectations. Tristan Stubbs provided a late surge with 34 runs off 18 balls, but it was not enough to lift the Capitals to a competitive total.

Overall, Krunal Pandya’s all-round performance was instrumental in RCB’s victory over Delhi Capitals in a thrilling IPL encounter.
