The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise has retained six players for the upcoming IPL auction. The retained players are Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ramandeep Singh, and Harshit Rana. Rinku Singh was the top retention for KKR, with the franchise investing Rs. 13 crore in the left-handed batter. Narine, Russell, and Chakaravarthy were retained for Rs. 12 crore each, while Harshit and Ramandeep were retained for Rs. 4 crore each. In total, KKR spent Rs. 57 crore on player retention. However, due to retention rules, KKR’s purse was deducted by Rs. 69 crore from the original Rs. 120 crore. This deduction is based on a fixed formula depending on the number of capped and uncapped players retained. Despite only spending Rs. 57 crore on retentions, KKR will enter the auction with Rs. 51 crore remaining in their budget.
