Venky Mysore, CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders, reflected on the team’s journey to find inspiration during a tough phase in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Despite currently having three wins and five losses, KKR needs to win five out of their six remaining matches to secure a spot in the playoffs. Mysore shared two instances from the past that serve as motivation for the team.

In 2014, KKR had a slow start with only two wins out of seven matches. However, they went on to set an IPL record by winning nine matches in a row, including the final, and eventually clinching 14 consecutive wins. Similarly, in 2021, KKR faced a similar situation with two wins and five losses but managed to reach the final.

Mysore emphasized the unpredictability of the format and urged the team to show determination and inspiration to turn things around. KKR mentor Dwayne Bravo echoed this sentiment, urging the players to trust the process and continue giving their best in practice despite the unfavorable results.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane welcomed the return of former assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, highlighting his significant role within the team. With a strong support system and belief in their abilities, KKR remains determined to bounce back and secure a spot in the playoffs.
