Former England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen has joined Delhi Capitals as a team mentor for the upcoming IPL 2025 season. This marks his first coaching assignment in the IPL, where he will be returning to the side he captained back in 2014 when they were known as Delhi Daredevils. Pietersen expressed his excitement about reuniting with the franchise and working closely with the team to achieve success.

DC finished in sixth place last season and has made some changes to their squad for the upcoming season, including the additions of KL Rahul, Harry Brook, and Mitchell Starc. They have also released Rishabh Pant and retained several key players. Pietersen will be joining the coaching staff, which includes head coach Hemang Badani, assistant coach Matthew Mott, bowling coach Munaf Patel, and director of cricket Venugopal Rao.

Co-owner of DC, Parth Jindal, welcomed Pietersen to the team and praised his expertise as a valuable addition to the coaching staff. With Pietersen’s experience and guidance, Delhi Capitals are hopeful for a successful season in IPL 2025.
