Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk did not attract any bids in the IPL 2026 Auction, which took place on Tuesday. The 23-year-old, who was previously with the Delhi Capitals before being released after IPL 2025, was the first player up for auction but unfortunately did not garner any interest from the 10 teams participating.
Fraser-McGurk had a impressive start to his IPL career in 2024, where he scored 330 runs at a striking rate of 234.04. However, his performance took a hit in the following season as he only managed to score 55 runs from six games in 2025.
Despite his initial success in the IPL, Fraser-McGurk’s lack of form in the previous season may have contributed to the lack of interest from the teams in the auction. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the talented opener, as he looks to bounce back from this setback.
The news of Fraser-McGurk going unsold in the IPL 2026 Auction was published on December 16, 2025. It will be interesting to see if any teams show interest in signing him outside of the auction process, as he looks to prove himself once again in the world of cricket.
